It’s been a busy two weeks in Athens with Athens Music Week and Athens Jazz back to back—an incredible amount of knowledge, important connections, meeting new and interesting people, and great music.

Athens Music Week is a boutique conference and music showcase festival that takes place at the Technopolis cultural events hub and its main goal is to foster connections among music and art professionals from international markets. We were invited because of our participation in the HEMI Incubator program for our Jazz Events Live project.

In a 3-day series of workshops, we were brought up-to-date about many topics relevant to the music business. Of course, business practices, strategies, and a live meeting with our HEMI coach were scheduled. Discussions and panels about the uses (and threats) of AI, Music Rights, and Streaming Platforms like Spotify and Apple Music. Online strategies and much more.

We are excited about the HEMI project where we will continue our journey toward the final event “Linecheck Music Meeting and Festival” in Milan, Italy from November 18 to 23.

Our second part of the Athens trip involved enjoying the great Athens Jazz Festival with a top-quality line-up of artists. Irini Konstantinidi of Jazz Events Live had the opportunity to participate in a parallel event “Civinet Forum” and speak about social sustainability and the inclusion of musicians in the jazz field.
